PayCheckr

Privacy Policy

Effective April 6, 2026. This page explains what information PayCheckr collects, how it is used, and the third-party services that help run the app.

What PayCheckr does

PayCheckr helps people check what payment methods a restaurant accepts before they go. The app also lets signed-in users submit anonymous feedback and lets visitors optionally use location-based features.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:

  • account information provided through Google sign-in via Supabase, such as identifiers needed to authenticate you;
  • feedback you choose to submit through the in-app feedback form;
  • location information if you choose to let your browser share your location with the app;
  • search queries, restaurant lookups, and other requests needed to return results;
  • usage and device information collected by hosting and analytics providers, such as basic pageview and performance data.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • operate, secure, and improve the app;
  • show nearby or map-based restaurant results when requested;
  • authenticate users and support feedback submission;
  • understand aggregate usage through analytics; and
  • detect abuse, errors, or misuse of the service.

Location data

Browser geolocation is optional. If you tap a location-based control, your browser may ask for permission to share your approximate location. PayCheckr uses that location to show relevant nearby results and center the map experience.

If you do not grant location access, you can still search manually.

Third-party services

PayCheckr relies on third-party services to function. Those providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy notices.

  • Google Maps and Google Places for maps, place details, and related search results.
  • Supabase for authentication, database storage, and backend services.
  • Vercel for hosting, delivery, and Vercel Analytics.

Your use of Google Maps features is also subject to Google’s terms and privacy policy.

Cookies and similar technologies

The app and its service providers may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember app state, improve performance, and measure usage.

Data retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the app, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and improve the service. Different types of data may be retained for different periods.

Your choices

You can choose whether to:

  • sign in with Google;
  • share location through your browser; and
  • submit feedback through the app.

Browser settings may also let you control certain cookies or location permissions.

Children’s privacy

PayCheckr is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page.
